Iberian Lighting has been making beautiful lamp shades for 60 years. Our designs are timeless and loved by many and our old designs are still popular today. Iberian's first product in its Vintage-Meets-Modern Series is the Winchelsea Lampshade - a new take on the 1960s nylon string lamp by Paul Secon.
The Mid-Century Retro Lucite and Nylon String Lighting
Paul Secon made this famous lamp for Sompex Germany in 1960. It was a perfect example of 1960s style. Made with tinted plastic and nylon string, the lamp had a complex, web-like pattern. Iberian Lighting wanted to keep the old design's charm while making it fit for today's homes.

A Fresh Look
Iberian has updated this old lamp to suit modern tastes. The Winchelsea Lampshade, named after Winchelsea Beach in East Sussex, has three main changes that make it look better and work better.

-
Better Material:
Clear plastic replaces the old coloured plastic, making the lamp look sleek and modern.

-
New Feature:
A diffuser has been added to soften the light, making it more useful while still looking good.

-
Make It Your Own:
You can choose coloured string, thread or even ribbons to make your lampshade unique. If you use a ribbon, you don't need a diffuser as the ribbon controls the light.

By updating this famous design, Iberian Lighting has shown that old styles can be made new. The mix of see-through plastic and thin strings creates a pretty glowing ball when lit up.
If you love 1960s style or just want a eye-catching piece for your modern room, Iberian Lighting's Winchelsea Lampshade is perfect. It mixes old charm with new design in a way that's sure to impress.
