Lego Store Lighting | Giant Bespoke Lampshades by Iberian

In partnership with RTC, a retail fit-out and branding specialist, Iberian Lighting was commissioned to create a set of giant bespoke lampshades for Lego flagship stores. The brief called for oversized drum lampshades, each measuring 1.1m in diameter, designed to complement a yellow coffer ceiling feature. The goal was to reflect Lego’s iconic brick system through bold geometry and meticulous engineering.

Because of their scale, the shades underwent several design iterations. Standard commercial frames were inadequate, so our team developed custom-engineered frameworks that could withstand the weight and deliver structural stability. Rigorous testing and certification ensured compliance with safety standards and durability in a high-traffic retail environment.

To streamline installation across global locations, the lampshades were designed for flat-pack shipping and simple reassembly by non-specialists. This required innovative frame engineering and a focus on precision manufacturing. The result was a large-scale production process that delivered consistent quality while maintaining Lego’s brand identity.
