Sterling Bar London

For the Sterling Bar in the Gherkin, London's iconic building, we faced an exciting design challenge. The brief called for a unique light fixture: a glowing cylinder wrapped in three layers of delicate copper mesh. Our task was to bring this vision to life while tackling the tricky aspects of working with mesh, which isn't your typical lampshade material. We couldn't use standard techniques, so we got creative. We built a special frame with custom-cut top and bottom plates to hold the three drum shades. Inside, we hid an LED light in a frosted acrylic tube, right in the middle of the shade. It was a bit of a puzzle, but we managed to stay true to the designer's idea while creating something truly special for this landmark spot.
